Music at All Saints' Pavement
Director of Music: Timothy Hone
Under the direction of Timothy Hone, music enhances the liturgy at All Saints Pavement. The choir supports our main Sunday two services and other services for special events throughout the year. The choir has been existence for over 160 years and is well known throughout the city through its singing at services for various organisations including Civic, Guild, and Ex Services.
The choir sings a wide range of anthems at each service. The choir is also known for the high standard of psalm chanting, the psalms are sung at both 10.30 and 6.30 service. The psalms, sung to anglican chant, are now becoming a rarity to hear in parish churches around York. We are pleased to continue this tradition.
The choir is a friendly group and is made up of members aging from 18 to over 80.
Choir rehearsals currently take place on Thursday evenings. We ask that members sing at least one of our Sunday services. We are always happy to welcome new singers to the choir. If you are interested in singing with us, please contact Rev'd Jane Nattrass or any of our choir members after any service for an informal chat about what is required or speak to Timothy Hone after a service.
